MATERIAL & CARE GUIDE

NYLON / PLASTIC

3D printing Nylon is created using a method called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). When printed thinly, it offers flexibility suitable for hinges and springs, and when printed thicker, it provides the strength required for structural components. My Nylon pieces are both lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear.

How do I care?

  • Nylon material can be lightly cleaned with soap and water.
  • Although it is a strong material, it may become damaged if exposed to strong impacts. Please also note that, due to the characteristics of the material, color changes may occur over time due to deterioration from daily use.

STEEL

Stainless steel material is printed using a binder jetting process and later infused with bronze, creating a material that is 60% steel and 40% bronze. Each piece of my art is unique in its color, depending on how much the bronze is infused at the surface, ranging from a silver gray to bronze. It is also typical to see layer lines from the 3D printing process that looks like topography on the surface.

How do I care?

  • This steel material may oxidize over time if exposed to prolonged humidity, sweat, liquid or hand lotion. I suggest that you wipe down your steel pieces after each wear with soft cloth to keep them dry.

STERLING SILVER

Sterling Silver (92.5% silver) is a high quality silver alloy commonly used in jewelry and other skin-safe applications. With several finishing options and the ability to showcase intricate details, 3D printing Silver offers a professional, finished look and feel.

How do I care?

  • To prevent oxidation, I suggest that your silver jewelry should not be worn while swimming, bathing, exercising, or when applying perfumes, lotions, or hair products.
  • 3D printed Silver will tarnish over time, but can be polished to achieve a like-new surface. I recommend regular cleaning of your precious metal pieces with a soft jewelry polishing cloth or non-toxic jewelry foaming cleaner. This will ensure that your piece will not be overly tarnished (which will then require professional cleaning).
